Nighttime at the Gazebo
*clarisse and Rosaire hidden*
Rosaire: Why is this such a big deal?
Clarisse: because Nannie told the Duc that the gazebo is a spot for romance to blossom and now he is meeting her there!
Rosaire: But that’s where we have our tea parties!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Nanette, standing alone at the gazebo and sweating profusely*
*Alphonse starts walking from the darkness, from a direction not close to any lodgings*
Alphonse: *flings his cape, spins, kneels, and holds out a bouquet* Mademoiselle.
Nanette: My lillies! How kind 😅
Alphonse: May I... entertain you with a tale?
Nanette: P-please!
Alphonse: *clears his throat* EVEN as the sun with purple-colour'd face Had ta'en his last leave of the weeping morn-
Nanette: Oh Shakespeare! How lovely-
Alphonse: Hunting he loved, but love he laugh'd to scorn; Sick-thoughted Venus makes amain unto him, And like a bold-faced suitor 'gins to woo him.
Nanette: Hehehe...
Alphonse: Thrice-fairer than myself...
~~~~~~~~~~~
Clarisse: When will he STOP?
Rosaire: tomorrow I’ll have to wear black, for he will bore her to death!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Alphonse: Look in mine eye-balls, there thy beauty lies-
Nanette: Very nice, hehehe 👏
Alphonse: Then why not lips on lips, since eyes in eyes?
Nanette: I’ll have to take a seat on this bench here, my shoes make standing too long a chore 😰
Alphonse: Oh pain, of course! A character of the human condition. May I offer you, my shoes in exchange?
Nanette: Actually I would like to- *looks on scribbles written on her hand* protect myself from the sun, view the scenery, and perhaps hold a small picnic gathering*
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clarisse: She did NOT just recite word for word what the Comte told her a gazebo is for.
Rosaire: Oh but he’s buying it!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Alphonse: Of course! *looks into the distance* I think I spot a bird over there!
Nanette: Care for some cookies? 😄
